Brenda and Chuck Shiring

Chuck Shiring and Brenda Shaffer-Shiring are a match made in fandom. They met as members of Starfleet International’s Pittsburgh-based U.S.S. Potemkin, and first performed at Shore Leave with the Potemkin Templetones. Though the ship ran aground, Chuck and Brenda kept coming to Shore Leave, and took up filking as a duo. In addition to about 20 Shore Leaves (they’ve lost count), they’ve performed at Confluence, Philcon, and the Festival of the Living Rooms, and have had a couple of songs on Filkcast. They live near Pittsburgh, work in retail, and have an adult son (and occasional co-star) named for his father.
