Brent A Warner
Brent Warner majored in physics at the College of Wooster, and despite all his studies, there are still aspects of physics that continue to surprise him. He’ll be sharing some of those fascinating topics in a science demo for kids.
In his career as a thermal engineer in the aerospace industry, Brent applies his physics knowledge to manage heat in space. Essentially, he handles “heating and air conditioning” for spacecraft—though, since there’s no air in space to condition, that’s a story for another time!

Great Mistakes in Science Again: Lord Kelvin’s age of the Earth
The error in Lord Kelvin’s age of the Earth is not what everyone thinks it is, that is, that heat from radiation has kept the Earth warmer than Kelvin calculated. It has more to do with the details of heat flow. That will be more difficult to explain, but I’ll give it a try.
