Laurette Spang

Laurette Spang is an American actress who is best known for her role in the classic science-fiction television series Battlestar Galactica. Even though her time in the spotlight was fairly short, she made a strong impression on fans and became an important part of the show’s legacy.

In Battlestar Galactica (1978), Spang played Cassiopeia, a medtech who traveled with the last survivors of humanity after their worlds were destroyed. Cassiopeia was kind, intelligent, and deeply caring, often helping injured crew members while also dealing with her own difficult past. This made her character feel realistic and emotional instead of just heroic.
