Shore Leave 30 will have a Meet-the-Pros party, Ten-Forward, Charity Auctions, and any number of other special events. Please check back for more information.
Meet-the-Pros Party
As always on Friday night at 10pm we will have a gathering of our writer, artist, and science guests in the rear of the long hallway in front of the ballroom. Please come to meet these guests, chat, and get a few books signed. Wheaton Plaza Borders Books will be setting up and selling books by our author guests. The manager is expending great effort to ensure that all books by our author guests that are currently in print will be available.
We have 13 authors and editors of the October 2007 anthology Star Trek: The Sky's The Limit: Marco Palmieri, Christopher L. Bennett, Greg Cox, Keith RA DeCandido, Scott Pearson, Michael Schuster, Steve Mollmann, Amy Sisson, James Swallow, Geoff Trowbridge, Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore, Richard C. White.
We have 5 authors of the December 2007 SCE#10: Creative Couplings: John S. Drew, Aaron Rosenberg, David Mack, Dayton Ward, and Kevin Dilmore.
We will have 7 authors of the May 2008 Dr. Who book Short Trips: The Quality of Leadership: Peter David, Keith DeCandido, John S. Drew, Allyn Gibson, Terri Osborne, James Swallow, Richard White.
We will have two book premieres at Shore Leave this year, Greater than the Sum (Christopher L. Bennett, and Myriad Universes: Infinity's Prism (Christopher Bennett, William Leisner, James Swallow). There is a chance we might also have the second book in this set available, Myriad Universes: Echoes and Refractions (Geoff Trowbridge; Keith DeCandido). Stay tuned to this website for further news.

Special Notice: Borders Books will also be at Shore Leave on Saturday and Sunday. If you can't make it to the Meet-the-Pros on Friday night, you have the chance to obtain the books on Saturday and Sunday, though of course it'll be a bit harder to find all the authors.
As a special treat two of our science guests will be signing books at the Meet-the-Pros Party on Friday night (10pm - midnight): Yoji Kondo and Ray Villard. They will give talks during Friday evening's science programming.
Ten-Forward
Our Ten Forward dance will be held as usual right after Masquerade on Saturday night. Join us as we dance the night away.
Chaos Filk
Join in the Chaos Filk with Crystal Paul late-night Friday and Saturday for filk in a more informal atmosphere. Check the Pocket Program for time and place.
Filk Concert
Do you have a song you want to share about your favorite show or character? Do you just want to sing along or maybe just listen? Then join the performers at the Filk Concert. Some performance slots are still available. Please contact Filk Chair Melissa James if you would like to participate.
Video Room
We are hoping to create the finest video programming possible for Shore Leave 30. We hope to balance classics with the latest wave of the most popular genre entertainment. Rather than simply guess at what our loyal members want to see, we have decided to put the question to you. What would you like to see in the video room of Shore Leave this year? Would you prefer a Star Trek-oriented program, or a mixture of shows? Classic genre films, or more popular fare of the last few years? Older TV programs from our guests, or the latest in fandom favorites? Tried-and-true or eclectic and edgy? We leave it up to you. All submissions before May15, 2008, will be gratefully accepted and considered based upon time allowance, availability, and appropriateness for our audience.
