Annual Shore Leave Blood Drive

Photo of a blood recipient. The summer months are a critical time for donations. Blood of any type (preferably human, though), is needed to ease the shortage in the Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Regions.

The bloodmobile is scheduled for Sunday, August 9 from 10:30am to 4:00pm.

Please consider, you can give blood every 56 days - so to be eligible to donate blood at Shore Leave 37 you can not have given blood after June 14 in order to donate on Sunday, August 9.

We encourage all planning to donate to make an appointment in advance. You will be able to schedule your time as well as a reminder E-mail or phone call prior to the Convention. Please remember that the donation process generally takes about an hour to complete. We will be recruiting donors the day of the drive and remember that walk-ins are welcome. (Please note that those with appointments will be given priority.)

Do you have questions about whether you're eligible to donate because of medical conditions or travel? Please call the Red Cross at 1-866-236-3276

Our goal for Shore Leave 37 is 100-150 donors. Please tell your friends about this and encourage them to give blood. For more general information about giving blood or about the Red Cross please visit their website.

Thank You to Pat Schoelen of Design of the Times for contributing the blood drive banner.
